The American College Library is an integral part of the teaching and learning environment of the College. The Library aims at
maintaining an adequate,
quality collection, comprised of curricular and co-curricular
material and to meet the educational needs of students as well
as the professional needs of the College’s faculty and
administration staff. In addition,
the Library aims at satisfying
a wide range of interests and inquiries with particular attention to the College’s areas
of study.
The College Library is specially designed for reading purposes
with plastic flooring and double-glazing in order to reduce
noise. The Library has a large seating capacity and it is
ideal for studying in peace and quiet. Photocopying facilities
are also available during library opening hours.

The book section,
with thousands of volumes, consists of highly specialized
books covering all areas associated with the College’s
curricula. The library subscribes to the Search Bank Databases
through its Internet facilities, providing users with access
to thousands of magazines and highly specialized journals on
topics like Business, Computer Science, Hospitality
Management, Humanities and the Social Sciences. In addition,
the Library continues to provide users with hard copies of
popular magazines and journals. The videotape section includes
many academic and professional videotapes.
Library collections are well organized and are arranged for
efficient retrieval at the time of need. The Library provides
its users easy access to books, periodicals, journals and
other reference material through search options from computer
terminals. A user can track down a book by simply entering the
author’s name or the book’s title. The user can also search
the database by subject so he/she can look at every book that
covers a specific topic. The Library uses the DEWEY decimal
classification system for organizing the collections.
A qualified librarian is available
to assist and advise library users on library procedures
throughout the Library’s opening hours. During orientation,
students are introduced to the Library’s indexing system and
available facilities.
