Outgoing Students for Studies

The Erasmus+ program offers to students the opportunity to go abroad for a study period at a partner institution that is participating in the Erasmus+ Program.

If you are interested in studying for one or two semesters abroad as an Erasmus+ student then you need to contact American College Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator, to discuss the possibility of participating in the program. The mobility period can be minimum 2 months and maximum 12 months per cycle of study.

By participating in an Erasmus+ mobility program, American College students can gain great experience and value in education. Those participating in the program pay American College fees and do not pay the fees of the host institution abroad. In addition, such students are provided with a grant, which covers their accommodation and daily expenses.

A travel allowance is also provided to students calculated based on the distance between Nicosia and the host institution.

In order to apply for an Erasmus+ program you must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be a full time registered student of a Bachelor Degree program of study at the American College,

  • Have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3 out of 4, and

  • Have completed at least 120 ECTS credits.

Students interested in studying in one of the partner institutions located in Europe should refer to the list of institutions with which American College has an established bilateral agreement, under the specific field of studies. You are advised to visit the page of the partner institutions, check the programs they offer and then make up your mind accordingly.

Before submitting your application form, you may also contact the partner institution for further information regarding the available courses for the respective semester as well as the language of instruction. In addition, you are advised to only consider the institution’s courses that are relevant to your own program of study at American College.

In case you wish to apply to an Institution that does not have a bilateral agreement with American College then you must inform us of this so that we may contact the specific institution in order to request the signing of a bilateral agreement.

To be able to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility program as an outgoing student for studies, a student needs to select the courses he/she will be taking at the host institution and use the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in order to fill in the Learning Agreement Form.

If for any reason (e.g. a course will not be offered in a specific semester, the student changed his/her mind, two or more of the selected courses have a time clash) the student must change one or more of the selected courses found on the Learning Agreement, he/she can substitute the initially selected courses in coordination with American College Erasmus Coordinator and complete a Changes in the Learning Agreement form.

Students wishing to participate in an Erasmus+ outgoing mobility program for studies express their interest to American College Erasmus Coordinator as follows:

Semester interested in studying Fall Semester (October) Spring Semester (February)
Application deadline 15th May 15th October

Before your departure you will have to complete the online linguistics course and/or assessment. Also we recommend that you acquire the EU Health Card from the Cyprus Ministry of Health, which will give you access to health care in all participating EU countries.

When you arrive at the host institution the Erasmus office must sign an Arrival Form and return it to American College.

During your study abroad your academic supervisor at the host institution will monitor your progress and complete and send a confidential progress report to American College.

Before you leave the host institution their Erasmus office must provide you with:

  • An official transcript with the courses you have attended

  • Arrival and Departure certificate from the host institute

Once you return to American College you need to submit the above documents as well as the following ones to American College Erasmus coordinator:

  • Final report (you will receive a link to complete this report online)

  • Boarding passes and copy of tickets of your outgoing and incoming flights
