Credit Load
The
normal credit load for a full-time student is 15 to 18
credit hours during a semester and 9 credit hours
during the Summer session. Students with a Cumulative
Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher may be permitted to
register for a maximum of 21 credit hours during a
semester and may continue to do so for as long as the 3.0
Cumulative Grade Point Average is maintained. Other
students may be allowed to register for more than 18
credits in a semester if they are repeating at least one
course or they require a few extra credit hours during
their last semester in order to graduate. In no case can
the number of credits exceed 21. Local students may elect
to study on a part-time basis by registering for fewer
than 15 undergraduate credits or fewer than 12 postgraduate
credits in a semester. Students who are residing in Cyprus
on a student visa are required to register for at least 15
credits in each semester if they are pursuing an
undergraduate program or at least 12 credits if they are
pursuing a postgraduate program. Such students can
register for the number of credits they need to graduate,
even if it is less than the relevant minimum number of
credits, if they are graduating from a master’s degree,
bachelor’s degree or a higher diploma program.
